Do you know who’s emailing you?

1st_CENTRAL_Phishing

We know it’s often difficult to know if an email is genuine these days, and fraudsters are becoming increasingly sneaky. Known as ‘phishing’ emails, these usually include a request to disclose or update personal, financial or other account data.

So we’re here to help put your mind at rest and ensure you know when you’ve received an email from us.

What does a phishing email look like?

  • Check the sender's complete email address, even if "1stcentral" is included. Our emails will either come from email@1stcentralmail.com or will end with “1stcentral.co.uk”. Our 1ST REWARDS emails will come from 1strewards@latest-updates.com
  • Check for spelling or grammatical errors (e.g. cntral)
  • Do not click any link in the email unless you’re 100% certain it’s genuine. Instead, we suggest you copy and paste the URL in your browser
  • Where possible we always try to address emails to your personally. Be wary of emails that say ‘Dear customer’ or have no greeting at all
  • We’ll only send emails to the address we have on file, so where possible, check what email address you gave us
  • If you want to check that an email is from us, give us a call, but don’t use the number in the email. All of our phone numbers can be found on our website
  • If you’re suspicious of any emails that appear to be from us, please forward them to stopfraud@1stcentral.co.uk

If you have any doubts about whether an email you received from us is genuine, don’t follow the instructions in the email until you’ve contacted us to check.
